The Goo Goo Soft® Contraction Monitor turns your Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC phone or PDA into an advanced stopwatch that tracks the duration and frequency of your contractions.

We never knew we would need this application. We were in labor for 72 hours before we went to the hospital, and 16 hours after we were in the hospital. Before we go to the hospital, our doctor tells us that we need to time the contractions. When they are every 5 minutes for an hour, we can come into the hospital. At first this was okay. But, after 24 hours I could no longer tell time.

So, I wrote an app that had one big button and it would record the contractions and tell how close they were. And after 24 hours it was very nice to have, after 48 it was important. Hopefully, for our next child it will not be needed for 72 hours.

The Contraction Monitor Version 1.0 monitors your labor graphing the frequency and duration of the contractions. It displays total labor duration, total contractions. It tracks the average frequency and duration over the last hour as well as the number of contractions during the past hour.

To start the contraction simply hit the "Start Contraction" button. The start button will change into the "End Contraction" button. When your contraction ends hit the "End Contraction" button. Based on your input the program will display graphs of the frequency, duration and a statistics page that can be used to see if you a ready to go to the hospital.
